Closeup of Standard Yarrow.
Closeup of Blue Sea Holly Flower Bracts
Comfrey Herb.    Traditional uses are for bruises and abrasions, swelling and injury to muscle, tendons, and ligaments.  Leaves were once fed to cattle for hoof and mouth disease.
Hummingbirds adore the drooping blue bell shaped flowers and will flock to them all day long.
Monarda species      Makes a wonderful tea.   I love the scent of it's leaves which can be dried and used along with the flowers in pot pourri's.   Flowers also dry and retain their scent and color for a long time if  kept out of direct sunlight.  Very brilliant magenta color.  Subject to powdery mildew on the leaves if not planted in a sunny and well ventilated spot.  Another favorite of Hummingbirds!
Southernwood Herb      Hardy perennial.  Grows to tall height and makes for a nice silvery grey contrast and background plant.   Since it is in the artemesia family, it's traditional usage was for worming and strewing in homes to scent the room and ward off insects.   Was also placed in storage furniture and included in mixtures for scenting clothing and drawers as well as repelling moths during long term storage.   I personally like it's scent but that of course is a personal preference.
Orange Butterfly Weed     Included on the "endangered" species list.  Absolutely striking bright orange flower clusters.   It lives up to it's name as it attracts large amounts of buttlerflys to the garden.  Hardy perennial  with very long lasting flowers.  Stays in bloom for weeks on end.
Orris Root     Heirloom Iris Species with gorgeous deep blue flowers.  Roots are traditionally used in body powders and perfumes as a "fixative" for the scented oils.  Chunks of root themselves have a nice scent and are commonly added to pot pourri.   Not readily available, took me years to find actual Orris Root.
All Heal Herb  (Heal All)   The names pretty much describes it's traditional use.  Colds, flu, and other common ailments.  Mostly the flowers were steeped for tea.  Also makes a wonderful addition as a ground cover in the garden.  Perennial that will seed itself quite easily.  Stays pretty compact, but it will die off after a few short years and come up from seed in another spot.  Relocates very easily in spring.  Nice dark foliage with flower spikes that have a purple hue that also make for a nice dried flower in craft arrangements.   Lightly scented and flowers will retain their color when dried for some time.
Some pictures of my herb beds & the farm.
True French Lavender       This is the original French Lavender used in the perfume industry.   Tender perennial that does well wintered over in a very sunny window or under lights.   This is about a 4 year old plant.
Topiary Rosemary     Standard Rosemary makes a great topiary plant.  This is one I keep wintered over on my kitchen counter.  Rosemary is one of my favorite plants!
Creeping Rosemary   Striking plant with creeping habit.  Beautiful blue flowers in profuse abundance when in bloom.

Closeup of Grosso Lavender Flowers
Old Fashioned Day Lillies    Once found in nearly every victorian yard.   Very hardy and makes a nice splash of color.
Silver Thyme     One of my favorite ornamental thymes.  Silvery leaves make a nice contrast along borders and rocks.  Well worth having in the garden.  Not recommended for culinary use.
Rue     Traditionally planted at the front door to ward off "witches".  We all need help with that, huh?   Wonderful landscaping addition.  Very dark blue grey leaves and interesting yellow flower heads.  Very hardy perennial.
Bachelors Buttons (Cornflower)  Makes nice pressed flowers and will make a dried flower if picked very early in blooming stage and handled carefully.  Holds color fairly well.
Lovage       Traditionally used as a substitute for celery in soups and stews.  Stems are hollow and can be used for straws in juices.  Perennial plant that divides pretty easily.  Insteresting in the garden as it has a nice light green foliage with pretty yellow flowers.  Leaves and stems have a definate celery aroma and flavor.
Grosso Lavendar     Lavender species that stays very compact and grey green in color.  Nice stem length on flower heads.  Bred specifically for the perfume industry.  The low bushy growth habit makes for easy harvesting of the flowers without damage to the plant.  Gorgeous!
Echinacea Purpurea "Magma"(Purple Coneflower)  Roots traditionally used for boosting immune system function.
Achillae Millifolia (Standard Yarrow)  Legend has it that this was used to stop the flow of blood on Achillea's wounds in battle.  Traditionally used for wound care as it has powerful astringent properties.
Eryngium (Blue Sea Holly)  Striking perennial flower.  Each plant produces a branching display of brilliant blue flowers displayed on irradescent stems of purple hues.  Very unusual and hard to find.  Groups of plants are a show stopper in the garden!  Flower much resembles a thistle and makes an excellent dried flower for arrangements and crafts.  Holds it's color remarkably long too!

Why Detoxify?

I will have lots more pictures of plants here in the future.   I have much more than what is shown at this time.  I have lost count, but I would estimate that I currently have more than 65 different varieties and species in the ground.  I have at least 10 different varieties of mints,  5 varieties of thymes, 2 varieties of lavender, along with some rare herbs that you hardly ever find, and 2 varieties of rosemary.

Most of the herb plants allow me to get starts in the spring and I grow some varieties from seed as well.  Included in these are some annual flowers as well as perennials.   Feel free to contact me as to availability of certain species or  varieties.

I am sorry, but I cannot ship plants at this time.  Possibly in the future.  There are regulations that one must comply with and it is just too time consuming for me to deal with it at this time.  When you start shipping plants across borders, it brings up a whole new issue of legalities!

In addition, I usually have some heirloom tomato plants in early spring.  I have found heirloom plants to provide the best flavors and many types do exceptionally well in this area and soil.  Heirloom plants are important as they are the foundation genetics for every species and variety of the hybrids found in most greenhouses.  It is vital that we continue to maintain the seed stock of these vintage vegetables.

I am not listed as an Organic Farm, but I use organic practices and raise all herbs and perennials chemically free.  It is my gift back to the Earth.    As far as I am concerned, one cannot possibly give back enough.  So much is taken from her due to massive over consumption by humans with little or no discretion as to the consequences.
